Webinar

On Friday, September 11, 2020, from 2–4 p.m.(Pacific) [5-7pm Eastern], AAAS Professor Evelynn Hammonds will participate in a live webcast panel discussion on the biological versus social determinants of race.  The discussion follows the one-hour screening of the award-winning docuseries Race, The Power of an Illusion: The Difference Between Us (Part 1).

Professor Hammonds joins other expert panelists to explore the contradictions between the biological reality of fundamental similarity across different racialized populations with the stark social differences ascribed to different “races.”

This event is the first in a three-part series organized and sponsored by UC Berkeley's Othering & Belonging, the School of Public Health, and the Center for Research on Social Change.
