On **Thursday, May 13, 2021**, at 7:00pm (Eastern) **[AAAS Professor Jarvis Givens](/people/jarvis-r-givens)** will discuss his recently published book *[Fugitive Pedagogy: Carter G. Woodson and the Art of Black Teaching](https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674983687)* and raise awareness about and support for black bookstores, black teachers, and Black studies programs. The conversation will be led by Professor Imani Perry and is being hosted in collaboration with several Black-owned bookstores.
