#  AAAS Alum Charrise Barron Joins Harvard Music Dept

On **Thursday, April 7, 2022**, **[AAAS Professor Ingrid Monson](/people/ingrid-monson)** delightedly announced that **[AAAS Alum Charrise Barron](https://www.charrisebarron.com/)** (Ph.D. AAAS 2017) has accepted Harvard’s offer to join the Music Department as an assistant professor. Professor Barron will be on leave her first year since she has received a Harrington Faculty Fellowship from the University of Texas, Austin for 2022-23 academic year. Professor Barron will begin teaching at Harvard in the Fall of 2023. AAAS eagerly welcomes Charrise back into the community.
