#  AAAS Concentrator Samantha O'Sullivan Gives Senior Thesis Presentation

On **Monday March 7, 2022** at 5:30pm(Eastern), **[AAAS Concentrator Samantha O'Sullivan](/people/samantha-osullivan)**, a B.A Candidate in Physics and African American Studies, will present "'Ha dem bado flot?' How do boats float?," as the Social Engagement element of her Senior Thesis, "Gullah Physics: Challenging English Language Hegemony in Science." Participants will learn the science of buoyancy in Gullah, and Ms. O'Sullivan will invite them to complete 3-5 minute surveys before and after the lesson. There will be time for a Q&A after the presentation.
