#  AAAS Concentrator Sydney Lewis Wins Hoopes Prize

 On **Monday, May 9, 2022**, *The Harvard Crimson* published an [article ](https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2022/5/9/hoopes-prize-2022/)announcing the winners of the 2022 Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize which recognizes outstanding scholarly work on an academic project. Among the seventy-three winners is graduating **AAAS Concentrator Sydney Lewis**, for her thesis titled "The (Mis)education of Black Harvard: The Fight for African and African American Studies, 1963–1976." In January of 2021 Ms. Lewis was featured at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute in an article available on their [website](https://www.radcliffe.harvard.edu/news-and-ideas/the-halls-of-history-a-personal-course-in-the-legacies-of-slavery).
