The Harvard Crimson published an article on September 9, 2020 entitled: "Harvard Faculty Join Nationwide Strike for Racial Justice."  AAAS Lecturer Linda Chavers was featured and quoted in the article as one of Harvard's faculty that participated in the Scholar Strike designed to call awareness to the racial climate in America, and the rash of police shootings and racial violence.

The article examines the National Scholar Strike inspired by the NBA, WNBA, Colin Kapernick and other athletes, to underscore the urgent importance of addressing racism and injustice in the United States.  The Scholar Strike is both an action, and a teach-in. For two days, faculty strikers refrain from their many duties and participate in actions designed to raise awareness of and prompt action against racism, policing, mass incarceration and other symptoms of racism's toll in America.
