On **Sunday, October 3, 2021**, following the opening of the 76th Annual UN General Assembly in New York City, Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) will hold the Most Influential 100 Class of 2021 Recognition & Awards Ceremony during which **[AAAS Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.](/people/henry-louis-gates-jr)** will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding service and accomplishment spanning a generation.
