AAAS Professor Bruno Carvalho will chair a Harvard Mellon Urban Initiative (HMUI) entitled "Proliferating enclaves: "De-risking" and the making of usable space in urban Africa" featuring Speaker Professor Claudia Gastrow and Respondent Renugan Raidoo, PhD candidate in social anthropology. The HMUI Urban Conversations aim to pair visiting scholars with Harvard faculty or graduate students as respondents with the goal of creating a space for scholars to share works-in-progress with an interdisciplinary community of urbanists.
