AAAS Professor Cornel West to speak at Hip-Hop Political Education Summit

REVOLT.TV, the online space for Hip Hop culture, announced it will hold a livestream event, "Hip-Hop Political Education Summit," to discuss and tackle the issue of voter suppression on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, National Voter Registration Day.

By joining forces with Black Voters Matter and Hip-Hop Week MKE, the event will feature a number of rap figures as well as those fighting on the frontlines for change. There, leaders will speak on all things that oppress people of color who want to voice and make their voices heard.

AAAS Professor Cornel West is among the special guests of the program.  Other guests include Cordae, Chuck D, DJ Envy, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson (Georgetown), Latosha Brown (co-founder of Black Voters Matter), Soledad O’Brien, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Melanie Campbell (National Coalition of Black Civic Participation), Congressman Andre Carson (IN), U.S. Senator Cory Booker (NJ), and so many more.

The day-long Hip-Hop Political Education Summit will be streaming on REVOLT’s YouTube, website, and Facebook platforms. It will feature insightful panels, performances, poetry and more.
