AAAS Professor Daniel Agbiboa Receives ISA Recognitions

AAAS Professor Daniel Agbiboa's book, Mobility, Mobilization, and Counter/Insurgency: The Routes of Terror in an African Context (University of Michigan Press, 2022) has been awarded this year's Best Book by a Global South Scholar Award, given by the International Studies Association's (ISA) Peace Studies Section. The award recognizes scholarship that makes an original and outstanding contribution to the field of peace and conflict studies. The Award Committee described Professor Agbiboa's book as “an excellent and insightful book that contributes to many of the existing debates inside of peace studies, but also opens new avenues of research in our field.” The award ceremony will take place in person at the Peace Studies Section’s Distinguished Scholar Reception in Montreal at the 2023 ISA Convention.  

The ISA also announced that Professor Agbiboa's book They Eat Our Sweat: Transport Labor, Corruption, and Everyday Survival in Urban Nigeria, is a finalist for this year’s ISA Global Development Studies (GDS) Book Award.
