AAAS Professor David Williams Participates in Panel Discussion

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, AAAS Professor David Williams was featured in a livestreamed panel discussion: "Pandemic's Disproportionate Impacts on Minority Communities in U.S. Cities."   The discussion was part of an ongoing series, "Coronavirus in America: Families in Crisis" based in part on the recent poll released from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and NPR.  The poll, "The Impact Of Coronavirus on Households Across America," finds that in some of America's largest cities, more than half of the households say they have lost a job, been furloughed, or had wages and hours reduced since the start of the coronavirus outbreak.  Minority communities that were already disproportionately burdened by wage gaps and chronic illnesses before the pandemic, have been more affected both in terms of illness, death and financial devastation.  The recorded discussion can be viewed at NPR's website.
