#  AAAS Professor Glenda Carpio to Speak at Bard

On **Thursday, April 20, 2023**, Bard College will host **[AAAS Professor Glenda Carpio](/people/glenda-r-carpio)** to give the inaugural lecture of the Rethinking Place: Bard-on-Mahicantuck Toni Morrison Lecture Series. Professor Carpio's talk titled “*[Migrant Aesthetics](https://cup.columbia.edu/book/migrant-aesthetics/9780231207577)*,” the same title as her forthcoming book due for release in July by Columbia University Press, explores immigrant literature and the need for a new paradigm for migrant fiction.
