AAAS Professor Hammonds Elected to Academy of Arts & Sciences

On Thursday, April 22, 2021, the American Academy of Arts & Sciences announced in a press release its election of 252 new members, nine of whom are from the Harvard community, including our very own AAAS Professor Evelyn Hammonds.  Professor Hammonds joins a long list of artists, scholars, scientists, and leaders who've contributed to the common good since the Academy's inception in 1780 including:  Benjamin Franklin (elected 1781), Albert Einstein (1924), Margaret Mead (1948), Martin Luther King, Jr. (1966), and Anna Deavere Smith (2019).  The press release and a complete list of members can be found on the American Academy of Arts & Sciences' website.
