#  AAAS Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Eric Foner: In Conversation

The Penny Stamps Speaker Series, with the support of *Detroit Public Television* and *PBS Books,* hosts a conversation between **[AAAS Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.](/people/henry-louis-gates-jr)** and prominent historian, Eric Foner on **Friday, January 29, 2021** at 8:00pm (Eastern). The two speakers will discuss Reconstruction and contemplate how a divided nation can unite into an interracial democracy. The evening will also preview Professor Gates' most recent project, *The Black Church*, which will premiere on *PBS* in February.
