#  AAAS Professor Jamaica Kincaid Focus of New Film

On **Wednesday, April 13, 2022**, *[The New York Times](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/13/arts/national-endowment-for-the-humanities-new-grants.html)* published an article titled "National Endowment for the Humanities Announces $33.17 Million in Grants" in which is was reported that the Manhattan organization [Women Make Movies](https://www.wmm.com/about-us/) will receive $500,000 toward the production of a documentary film that explores the life and work of **[AAAS Professor Jamaica Kincaid](/people/jamaica-kincaid)**. The forthcoming movie titled “Jamaica Kincaid: Liberating the Daffodil,” will be directed by Stephanie Black.
