AAAS Professor Jarvis Givens Receives 2022 HES Outstanding Book Award

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, it was announced that AAAS Professor Jarvis Givens' book, Fugitive Pedagogy: Carter G. Woodson and the Art of Black Teaching, has been selected as the winner of the History of Education (HES) Outstanding Book Award for 2022.  The HES Outstanding Book Award recognizes the book that is judged to be the most outstanding book on the history of education published during the previous year. The award will be presented this fall at the History of Education Society's 2022 conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
