#  AAAS Professor Kay Shelemay Receives Cabot Fellowship

Dean Claudine Gay and the Divisional Deans have honored **[AAAS Professor Kay Shelemay](/people/kay-kaufman-shelemay)** as a Walter Channing Cabot Fellow for the current academic year. Professor Shelemay receives this prize fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contributions in her field, including the 2022 publication of *[Sing and Sing On: Sentinel Musicians and the Making of the Ethiopian American Diaspora](https://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/S/bo114656431.html)*. Professor Shelemay previously received this award during the 2001-2002 academic year. A public announcement will appear online in *The Harvard Gazette* during the month of June.
