#  AAAS Professor Lewis' Book Awarded PN Inaugural Prize

 **[AAAS Professor Sarah Lewis](/people/sarah-lewis)** and collaborator Harvard HAA graduate student, Christine Garnier, have announced that the [Photography Network](https://www.photographynetwork.net/) has awarded the recently released *[Carrie Mae Weems](https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/carrie-mae-weems)*, volume one of their inaugural book prizes. Within a month of the book’s release, the hardcover edition had sold out. Of the 2,000 paperback copies printed, 1,317 had sold by the start of August. MIT Press has committed to a second print run. The volume has been reviewed by a number of outlets, including Hyperallergic, Zora, [The Harvard Gazette](https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2021/09/harvard-art-professor-analyzes-carrie-mae-weems-photography/), the Boston Globe, Town & Country, Lit Hub, Publisher's Weekly with peer-reviewed journal reviews forthcoming.
