AAAS Professor Marcyliena Morgan and doctoral student Christina Twicken collaborate to create a playlist for the exhibit, “We Wanted A Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85”

From June 27, 2018 – September 30, 2018, the exhibit, “We Wanted A Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85” was available for viewing at The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Massachusetts.  The special connection the exhibit has with AAAS is that AAAS Professor Marcyliena Morgan and AAAS doctoral student Christina Twicken collaborated to create a playlist for the exhibit. 

The playlist is a mixture of strong and incredibly talented women of color.  The exquisitely curated list included songs from: India.Arie; Tracy Chapman; Erykah Badu; Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston; Patti Labelle; Nina Simone; Meshell Ndegeocello; Esperanza Spalding with Algebra Blessett; and Aretha Franklin.  The full playlist is available on Spotify.  To learn more about the exhibit as well as the playlist check out the links are below:
