#  AAAS Professor Tommie Shelby Gives APA Presidential Address

 On Saturday, January 16, 2021, **[AAAS Professor Tommie Shelby](/people/tommie-shelby)**, current president of the [American Philosophical Association (APA) Eastern Division](https://www.apaonline.org/group/eastern), gave the Presidential Address entitled "Afro-Analytical Marxism and the Problem of Race." Professor Shelby's address closed out the APA's 2021 Eastern Division Meeting, a 6-day event filled with lectures and colloquium & symposium sessions.
