American Political Science Association (APSA) and the APSA Foundations of Political Thought Committee charged with determining the annual Easton Award have announced that
AAAS Professor Tommie Shelby will be the recipient of the 2023 Easton Award for outstanding book published in 2022 in the field of political theory for his book
The Idea of Prison Abolition. The David Easton Award is given for a book that broadens the horizons of contemporary political science by engaging issues of philosophical significance in political life through any of a variety of approaches in the social sciences and humanities. The award will be presented this fall at the 2023 APSA Annual Meeting in Los Angeles.
