#  AAAS Professor Tracy K. Smith Named Co-Chair of Harvard Slavery Memorial Project Committee

On **Wednesday, February 8, 2023**, Harvard University announced the Legacy of Slavery Memorial Project Committee to lead efforts in memorializing the enslaved individuals whose labor helped establish the University. AAAS Professor [Tracy K. Smith](/people/tracy-k-smith) was named as co-chair of the committee.
