AAAS Professor Vincent Brown Wins 2021 Frederick Douglass Book Prize

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Yale University announced that the 2021 Frederick Douglass Book Prize will be shared by two scholars, Marjoleine Kars and AAAS Professor Vincent Brown for his book Tacky’s Revolt: The Story of an Atlantic Slave War.  This is the 23rd annual Frederick Douglass Book Prize to be awarded in recognition of the best book written in English on slavery, resistance, and/or abolition published in the preceding year. Professor Brown shares a $25,000 prize which will be awarded at a ceremony on February 17, 2022.  Read the full press release at Yale's website.
