On **Monday, September 7, 2021**, the Museum of African American History (MAAH) announced the 2021 Stone Book Award Winners and Finalists. **[AAAS Professor Walter Johnson](/people/walter-johnson)** was chosen to be a 2021 MAAH Stone Brook Award Finalist for his book *[The Broken Heart off America: St. Louis and the Violent History of the United States](https://www.basicbooks.com/titles/walter-johnson/the-broken-heart-of-america/9780465064267/)*.
