On **Wednesday, September 28, 2022**, *PBS Books*, in collaboration with the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), hosted a conversation between **[AAAS Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.](/people/henry-louis-gates-jr)** and **[AAAS Professor Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham](/people/evelyn-brooks-higginbotham)**. The two African American historians discussed his work and his process for his new documentary, **[MAKING BLACK AMERICA: THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE](https://www.pbs.org/weta/making-black-america/)**, a four-part series premiering on *PBS* stations across the country starting on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 9:00pm(Eastern).
