 

#  AAAS Professors Lewis and Higginbotham in Discussion re History, Race, and Photography

On **Monday, May 17, 2021**, at 8:00pm (Eastern) **[AAAS Professors Sara Lewis ](/people/sarah-lewis)**and **[Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham](/people/evelyn-brooks-higginbotham)** will take part in a conversation highlighting the recently released  book *[To Make Their Own Way in the World: The Enduring Legacy of the Zealy Daguerreotypes](https://aperture.org/books/coming-soon/to-make-their-own-way-in-the-world-the-enduring-legacy-of-the-zealy-daguerreotypes/)*. The live streamed event is produced by PBS Books in partnership with the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) and will also feature scholars Ilisa Barbash and Deborah Willis.
