The event “Alone Together: Strength and Solidarity Between the Roma and African-American Communities” was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Harvard Kennedy School. The purpose of the event was to discuss similarities and solidarities between Roma in Europe and African Americans in the US. The distinguished panelist included:
- Jacqueline Bhabha, Director of Research, Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, Harvard School of Public Health
- Margareta Matache, Instructor, Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, Harvard School of Public Health
- Cornel West, Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy, Harvard University Department of African and African American Studies, Harvard Divinity School
This was the sixth annual event at Harvard marking International Roma Day. The event was presented by Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University, and Harvard Kennedy School Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
