DESCRIPTION:<p>	On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, from 7:00-8:15PM (Eastern), AAAS Professor Jesse McCarthy will participate in a roundtable discussion sponsored by the Woodberry Poetry Room entitled: Ralph Ellison at Harvard.  </p><p>	The discussion will explore Ralph Ellison's 1953 and 1973 visits to Harvard, as well as the impact of his work on the larger culture during this critical period of the Civil Rights movement. The event will include archival audio from one of the earliest extant recordings of Ellison, made by the Woodberry Poetry Room during the Harvard Conference on the Contemporary Novel in August 1953.</p><p>	All Woodberry Poetry Room events are free and open to the public via Zoom with advance registration. </p>
