DESCRIPTION:<p>	On Thursday, October 8, 2020, <strong><a href="internal:/people/john-stauffer" target="_blank" title="John Stauffer's Faculty Bio">AAAS Professor John Stauffer</a></strong> will participate in a panel discussion at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study entitled: <em><a href="https://www.radcliffe.harvard.edu/event/2020-enduring-legacy-slavery-virtual" target="_blank" title="Radcliffe's Event Page for The Enduring Legacy of Slavery and Racism in the North">The Enduring Legacy of Slavery and Racism in the North</a></em>.  The panel discussion will be moderated by <strong><a href="https://history.fas.harvard.edu/people/tiya-miles" target="_blank" title="Tiya Miles' Faculty Bio">AAAS Alum Tiya Miles</a></strong>, currently a Radcliffe Alumnae Professor and Harvard University Professor of History.  The event will examine the role and impact of slavery in the North and the influence of Agassiz and how Black abolitionists responded to scientific racism.</p><p>	For more information and to register visit <a href="https://www.radcliffe.harvard.edu/event/2020-enduring-legacy-slavery-virtual" target="_blank" title="Radcliffe's Event Page">Radcliffe's event page</a>.</p>
