DESCRIPTION:<p>	During the 2021-2022 academic year Harvard's Radcliffe Institute will host two one-hour webinars exploring the legacy of Eileen Southern.  The first entitled "Black Women and the American University: Eileen Southern’s Story," will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 4:00pm (Eastern). The second webinar entitled “Black Music and the American University: Eileen Southern’s Story,” will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022.  Eileen Southern, the first black woman to be appointed full professor with tenure at Harvard, chaired the Department of Afro-American Studies from 1976-1979.  For information on how to register for the webinar visit the event page on Radcliffe's website.</p><p>	Note:  the 4:00 time is tentative, please check Radcliffe's event page closer to the April 7, 2022 for the correct time.</p><p>	 </p>
