Chepchumba Choge is a senior in Leverett House concentrating in Computer Science & African and African American Studies, with a secondary in the Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Her intellectual interests include identifying and revealing bias in Artificial Intelligence, with an end toward illustrating how algorithms that are often marketed as neutral and objective have the potential to not only replicate, but also amplify existing human biases. Chepchumba is a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) Fellow at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She is extremely passionate about increasing diversity, advocating for inclusion, and fostering belonging for historically underrepresented minorities in STEM. Chepchumba also engages in health and social policy research at the School of Public Health, and has previously conducted behavioral science research at the Business School.
