 Peter Corti is a PhD student in the Department of African and African American studies with a secondary field in Comparative Literature. His research interests span literature, national languages, digital humanities, and literary avant-gardes. His dissertation focuses on the intersection between vernacular literatures, sacred languages, and poetry in West Africa, Italy, and the Caribbean. He is currently working on an article that draws connections between Dante Alighieri and Sëriñ Muusaa Ka, and another project analysing the practice of Ifá divination on social media platforms. Prior to coming to Harvard, he earned a B.A. in Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. Peter works across several languages, including Wolof, Italian, French, Pulaar, Arabic, and Ancient Greek.
