Robin McDowell

Robin McDowell is a doctoral student in African and African American Studies, with a primary field in History. Her work explores the role of alluvial landscapes, labor, and collective memory in the construction of race in 19th century Louisiana. Her work is informed by experience in New Orleans as a community organizer, French Quarter tour guide, and co-design practitioner.

She holds an MFA in Design from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015 and a BA in Fine Arts from The University of Pennsylvania in 2008.
