AAAS Master's in Passing
The department does not admit candidates for a terminal AM degree, but students who have met all the course requirements for the degree may petition to be awarded an AM in African and African American Studies. Graduate students who choose to pursue a African and African American Studies Master’s in Passing will benefit from learning how to do interdisciplinary work on the basis of the substantial body of scholarly writing on African and African American social, cultural, economic and political life and history. The Department encourages comparative work on African, African American, and diasporic topics. When ready, submit your AAAS A.M Completion form to Keirsten_Melbourne@fas.harvard.edu before applying for the degree in My.Harvard.
